TDI Brooks

Our partner, TDI Brooks, has a set of subsea coring tools that is dropped from a few feet above the sea floor embedding the tools in the sediment. They need to measure the penetration depth in the seabed each time it is deployed. One of their coring tools, CPT-Stinger, has sensors that provide this already, but a reasonably priced solution to provide this same functionality for other coring tools is needed. The team completed this project by designing a functional device with associated drawings to issue for manufacturing and creating a functioning prototype that was sent to the field for testing.
