Using biological techniques, our team seeks to grow fresh produce without the need for roots or leaves. Recent developments in plant molecular and cellular biology have created an opportunity for non-photosynthetic growth, and we’re the first to tap into this exciting new agricultural space.
Without the need for light, our invention offers a solution to food insecurity by enabling continuous, scalable harvests with low investment costs, all while boasting a net-zero water and pesticide footprint. The farm operates within a closed system and can easily scale from small garden to industrial food production. This is made possible through the use of our craft synthetic sap, which we’re in the process of refining to achieve accelerated growth of tomatoes.
The team has made significant progress, soon partnering with Dr. Cory Klemashevich at the IMAC Lab in the Biophysics Building to conduct crucial chromatography and microscopy tests.
