
This semester, the Switchless Aggies Create team aimed to help expand the product line by developing hardware and software for a new dimmer light switch, as well as a mmWave radar-enabled motion/presence detecting smart cover plate. Major tasks included designing and manufacturing custom PCBs for a capacitive touch slider, dimmer controller, and motion cover plate microcontroller unit, as well as developing software to control these hardware components. Other tasks included developing code libraries based on the i2c communication protocol to enable communication between components, and writing sophisticated LED drivers to create dynamic effects with the lights built in to the Switchless Smart Switches.
